5 Reasons You Should Get a Cat

I have always been an animal lover. If it’s furry and has 4 legs I melt. Of all the furry creatures I have encountered, cats are by far my weak spot. Yea, when I look into a puppy’s eyes I instantly want to bring it home, but a fuzzy ball of kitten just tugs at my heartstrings in a way I can’t resist.

It has been a while, probably 4 years or more, since I’ve had a feline companion. Lucy was my last cat and I didn’t feel right replacing her. That is until my last birthday when I knew it was time to bring another kitty into my life. I’m pretty sure it was fate when I met Phoebe. She ran up to me and I just knew she was meant to be a part of my family. So I adopted her and for the past 3 months, we have been inseparable. Her and Butter are pretty inseparable too, except when she’s in annoy mode and can’t help but gnaw on Butter’s leg or ears.

But it’s not always “annoy mode”. In fact, even when she’s being a holy terror she’s still the most adorable ball of fur ever.

I know a lot of people who swear against cats and if you’re one of them I have 5 reasons you should get a cat to sway your judgment.

Cats are pretty much self-sufficient. They bathe themselves, use a litter box, and aren’t overly clingy. If they need something they have a way of letting you know. They are also great at entertaining themselves.

They are loving; when they want to be. Cats, at least most of them, enjoy rubbing against you letting you know they love you. Sure, they probably just want you to scratch behind their ear, but it’s the sentiment that counts here.

Cats are fun to watch. They spring forth out of nowhere, chasing invisible objects and always surprise you with new ‘tricks’.

They keep the pests away. Since cats still have some of their natural predatory instincts they are great at keeping pests and vermin out of the house.

Cats are just too cute to not love. Seriously, even when they’re ugly they’re cute. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns. Not to mention they are great for Instagram attention 😉

How could anyone not love a face like this?!
