Is anyone else super excited that football is back in season? I swear those few months without it seem to drag on and on and thereās absolutely nothing on TV. Okay, so thatās an exaggeration but thereās not much that compares to tailgating at a football game. Between the game itself, catching up with friends, and whatever is cooking the excitement doesnāt end!
I know that not everyone has the time or budget to head out to the games so I thought Iād share an easy recipe so you can tailgate at home (or at the stadium). See, wings are pretty much synonymous with football in my book so I like to jazz them up just a tad all while keeping within a budget. Thatās why I love shopping at Family Dollar; itās close to my house and they always have great deals.
Kind of bored with traditional hot wings I thought Iād cook up some orange glazed chicken wings instead. You can throw in a little hot sauce or red pepper flakes if you want some heat, but these are delicious as they are. Instead of using the same-old-same OJ I chose to go a different route and picked up some Orange Fanta from Family Dollar. While I was there I also grabbed some Coca-Cola⢠and Wise Chips, everything I needed to keep these guys happy while we root for our favorite teams.
Sport + Food + Soda = Happy Men
I used Alton Brownās method for cooking the wings, steaming them first then baking. This makes them so much better than just frying or baking them. Theyāre super juicy and have the perfect amount of crispness, everything you want in a good wing.
You can find my recipe below but first be sure to take advantage of this great offer. You can SAVE $1 when you buy (1) 12-pack of any Coca-ColaĀ® product plus (1) Wise snack 3oz or larger at Family Dollar today! While youāre there look for the one-stop Coca-Cola and Wise snacks display.
