I know I’m going to be lynched for what I’m about to say, but I’m saying it anyway. I’m not an Elvis fan. Wait, wait - put down the pitch forks. I don’t hate Elvis, I just don’t go crazy whenever I hear Blue Suede Shoes or Jailhouse Rock. I will hum along with Love Me Tender and get the urge to dance when I hear Hound Dog. But that’s as far as it goes. I have friends who are borderline obsessed with him and I just don’t get it. There is one thing that The King and I have in common - I love peanut butter and banana. I think it’s a wonderful flavor combination and I have dipped many bananas in many peanut butter jars. I still eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches, in secret, and hope there are some other peanut butter and banana lovers out there. Say hi, wouldya?!
I’ve always wanted to make a peanut butter and banana smoothie but there was always a problem whenever I tried. The bananas were either too ripe or not ripe enough. There were textures that left the smoothie less than appealing. The taste of banana or peanut butter was overpowered or diluted by another ingredient. Always something that kept my dream of peanut butter and banana smoothie goodness just out of reach. And then I found out about bananamilk from BANANA WAVE. They sent me some bananamilk to try and I definitely give it 2 thumbs up - it not only made my smoothie possible but delicious too.

A little about BANANA WAVE:
Created from one of nature’s most universally-loved fruits - the banana - BANANA WAVE bananamilk is a delicious, creamy and nutrient-filled new option derived from an ancient African recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation and first introduced to company founder, Neter Alkebulan, by his own Grandmother.
BANANA WAVE bananamilk contains three of nature’s “superfoods” – fruit, grains and seeds – and because it begins with pure banana puree one serving contains as much potassium as a small banana as well as 29 vitamins and minerals and 1200 mg of Omega-3s. BANANA WAVE bananamilk contains plant-based protein, is a good source of fiber, and is all natural, dairy-free, gluten-free and certified Non-GMO by Greenleaf Non-GMO.
Naturally sweet, BANANA WAVE bananamilk is a nutritious option for anyone with an on-the-go lifestyle, active kids, athletes, and of course, banana lovers. Delicious and refreshing on its own as a snack or meal replacement, BANANA WAVE bananamilk is also perfect for smoothies, on cereal or for use in cooking and baking. It’s great for vegans, vegetarians, those managing a dairy or nut allergy or for anyone looking to finally be inspired by non-dairy milk again!
So, by using bananamilk instead of any other milk and bananas, I get the full banana flavor without the weird texture. The best part, though, is that it’s a healthy smoothie that’s packed with protein and vitamins. By using organic peanut butter and honey it becomes, even more, guilt free; and don’t forget it’s vegan! You can find a bananamilk retailer with the product locator on the BANANA WAVE website and we’re also giving some away so be sure to enter the giveaway below.
I just love smoothies - they’re basically the only thing I’ll have for breakfast! I usually have a protein smoothie after working out, too. I LOVE peanut butter and bananas, so I have to try this recipe out! Yum!!
I always making fruit smoothies, and this one is looks perfect combination, peanut butter and banana are definitely delicious.
I am all about smoothies. They’re refreshing, healthy and perfect to quench the hot summer wave. I need to give this version a try asap. Yum.
I am always looking for a liquid way to consume my breakfast. I am addicted to coffee which I know is bad. I just never feel hungry in the morning and usually skip a meal?
If you used bananas in your smoothie, I think they would work better sliced and then frozen. Then you wont have that weird mushy texture and you could cut back on the ice.
The banana milk sounds tasty but I am not sure that I would like it.
I love bananas in smoothies. This sounds great and I’d love to give it a try. I’ve always liked the combination of bananas and peanut butter.

I’m with you, I’m not a fan of Elvis either. I’m not anti-Elvis I just don’t and won’t own any of his music. While banana isn’t my cup of tea your smoothie looks delicious.
