Did you know that less than half of the human race has 20/20 vision? It’s estimated that 3.6% are farsighted, 33% are nearsighted, and about 36% have some form of astigmatism. That means the majority of the human race would benefit from some type of vision correction whether it’s glasses/contacts or surgery. The problem for many is cost; vision exams aren’t really cheap and add to that the cost of eyeglasses and/or contacts and the price can skyrocket. I won’t even touch on the cost of corrective eye surgery.
For those on a fixed budget, seeing clearly may seem like a pipe dream but there are options. I was recently given the opportunity to try out a pair of Dial Vision Glasses and they seem like a great option in lieu of eye exams and expensive vision correction.
What are Dial Vision Glasses?
Dial Vision are the world’s first glasses you adjust to give you crystal clear vision. As you move the dial, you’re actually adjusting the lenses until your prescription is matched. You can even adjust them to become reading glasses! It’s like having two pairs of glasses in one! Dial Vision are impact resistant, have flexible frames that won’t break, plus they have adjustable nose bridges for incredible comfort. See the world with clearer vision.
That description is taken directly from the Dial Vision website and I have to say it’s pretty spot on. I have a habit of breaking my prescription glasses so more often than not I go without them. If you have vision problems yourself then I’m sure you’re familiar with the (literal) headaches that come along with not wearing glasses or contacts. The Dial Vision Glasses have helped me eliminate those headaches and that alone gets them my seal of approval.
My biggest issue is being nearsighted, but on occasion, I’ve noticed my eyes straining to read close up. These glasses are good for both reading and watching TV without having to switch glasses. With just a little adjustment I can quickly change settings to see whatever I am looking at with amazing clarity.
Now, while I truly love these glasses, there are a few downsides. The first, and most noticeable, is that these are in no way fashionable. I would love them so much more if they had designs other than the only option: thick black top frame.
Another notable downside is the fact that the part of the lens that improves your vision is surrounded by clear plastic. I’ve noticed if I turn my head a certain way and look upwards things get blurry. This makes me think the glasses are best suited for use while you’re sitting still either reading or watching television.
With a price tag of under $30, I can live with an unfashionable pair of glasses that lets me read, work, and enjoy TV without worrying about getting a headache. That’s a lot less than what you’d pay for a vision exam alone!
The pros definitely outweigh the cons, but if you’re skeptical I put together a chart for you.

That is so cool! I could not care less how they look as long as I can see. It’s not like I’ll be wearing them out. And especially not to a red carpet.
