I’m starting to think Mother Nature doesn’t want me to remodel my kitchen. Between the rain and noreasters, I haven’t been able to get outside to cut lumber or much of anything else. Not one to sit idly by and let my dreams fade away, I decided to get some of the minor tasks done while I wait for clear weather. What I wasn’t expecting was the drastic difference Smart Tiles (received for editorial purposes) made in my unfinished kitchen.
Going into my kitchen makeover I knew I wanted to tile the area around the sink and possibly the stove. I was getting overwhelmed reading about how to add tile to walls and almost nixed the tile idea altogether. That’s when I found Smart Tiles and the promise of simple installation had me sold on the idea. I’ll take simple over complicated any day, especially if it ends with the amazing results I had using these.
What really caught my attention was that I didn’t need to use grout or any other specialty materials to install Smart Tiles. They are peel and stick tiles that are guaranteed to stay in place as long as I want them to. All I had to do was use a degreaser on the area I placed them, peel off the backing, and stick them in place. When they didn’t align just right I was able to easily readjust them without losing any of the adhesion or destroying the paint behind them.
Smart Tiles come in several colors and designs, so there’s bound to be one for your project. I chose the Bellagio Alario because it went perfectly with my sky blue walls and white trim. It adds just the right amount of POP without overshadowing the rest of the accents in the room. I was able to easily cut the tiles to shape with an X-ACTO knife to tile around electrical outlets and corners. That really helped save time and effort, making this a truly simple project.
Smart Tiles are heat and humidity resistant, making them great for kitchen, bathroom, and/or laundry room facelifts. If you’re considering a complete kitchen remodel like me, or just want to bring your kitchen to the 21st century, Smart Tiles are the perfect solution. You don’t need to be a DIY pro and you don’t need an extra set of hands. Smart Tiles can be installed by anyone with amazing results. If you can’t tell, I’m a big Smart Tiles fan now. I can’t wait to start on my bathroom renovation just so I can use Smart Tiles in there too.
