Valentine’s Day isn’t so romantic when you’re single. It can be depressing and even embarrassing, but to that, I say pfft. There’s absolutely no reason you can’t rock V-Day single. So put down the ice cream, change out of your sweats, and dive into these 10 things to do when you’re single on Valentine’s Day.
Throw a Party; a singles-only party! No single person wants to watch happy couples suck face on Valentine’s Day. Surround yourself with your single friends and take lots of selfies. If you’re on the hunt for Mr./Mrs. Right then have guests bring a single friend and you could meet the person of your dreams.
Organize a Secret Cupid exchange. Think of it like Secret Santa but with more pink. Everyone gets a Valentine’s Day gift without the commitment and no one is left out. Set a price limit for gifts or simplify it even more by just giving cards.
Get all dressed up with no place to go. You don’t need a significant other to show off your hotness. Put on that LBD or snazzy tux and order takeout (or delivery). Find a good movie or TV show to watch and let yourself get swept away.
Buy yourself something awesome. One of the best things about being single is that you can take the money you’d spend on gifts for them and spend it on yourself! Treat yourself to something you really want and realize you are the best Valentine you could ever ask for.
Send yourself flowers. Send them from yourself, your imaginary partner (the one you made up so people would stop trying to set you up with their single friends), or from a secret admirer.
Play Cupid. Cupid is known for his arrows of love so check your area for places that offer archery lessons. You can set up pictures of an ex for target practice if you’re feeling especially jaded.
Cuddle with some critters. Nothing says love like a big bundle of fur so head to a local animal shelter and volunteer for a day, or longer! Who knows, you could find your forever love in the form of a rescue.
Create your soul mate. Get out a piece of paper and a pen and write down everything you want your soul mate to be. Tall, generous, smart, funny… then draw them. It may sound silly but it could be a lot of fun!
Tackle your bucket list. You know all those things you’ve wanted to do but always find an excuse not to? Do some of them!
Go on a group date. Gather your single friends and make reservations at a fancy restaurant (or go for fast food if you’d rather!) Have everyone dress up and be sure to take lots of pics!
These are just a few ways you could enjoy being single on Valentine’s Day. I’d love to hear some more so leave me a comment with your best single on Valentine’s Day suggestions.
