By far, my favorite method of cooking anything is in a slow cooker. It’s so much easier and less mess, what’s not to love? My biggest issue with past slow cookers has mainly been size. They were okay for smaller meals, but I wanted to do more. When I got the Kalorik High-Capacity Slow Cooker for review (we’re giving one away below too!) I was overwhelmed with ideas. I mean, I went all out to see what I could and couldn’t do with it.
So far I am thrilled to say I haven’t found anything I couldn’t do with it. The first thing I did was cook a 12 pound ham in the slow cooker. I had never done a slow cooked ham outside of the oven and wasn’t sure it would fit. If I had been thinking I would have taken pictures, but I was too excited to even think of that. It fit just right and came out insanely moist and flavorful.
I made a few other meats since the ham and they all came out great, but my biggest accomplishment by far was the Brownie Swirled Better Than Sex Cake. I shocked a few people with this one since apparently not everyone realizes you can make desserts, even cakes, in a slow cooker.
Another great feature is the locking lid. I can’t count how many times I’ve had juices slosh out when moving a crock full of food. The lock makes sure what’s inside stays inside. There’s a button on top to unlock the lid when you’re ready to get inside. The lid itself is high-temperature, tempered glass and has a silicone rim to further prevent spills.
The controls are pretty straight forward – warm, low, and high temperature settings and an easy to control timer. You can even delay the timer so you it doesn’t start cooking until you want it to!
The Kalorik High-Capacity Slow Cooker looks great too. The sleek red body and chrome plated control panel are eye-catching and make a beautiful addition to any table. I love the festive red color especially for the holidays.

Kalorik High-Capacity Slow Cooker
- 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 box Brownie Mix
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup + 1 cup peanut butter
- ½ cup shredded coconut
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- Use baking spray to coat your crock.
- Prepare Cake Mix according to directions and add to slow cooker.
- Prepare Brownie Mix according to directions and add ⅓ cup vegetable oil. Whisk in 1 cup of peanut butter and coconut.
- Slowly swirl into the cake mix.
- Cook on high for 3 hours.
- Mix together remaining peanut butter, milk, and powdered sugar and pour over the top of the cake.
- Serve warm.
