Between dust, dirt, pollen, mold, and mildew, the air in your house could be seriously gross. A lot of homes have one or more of these floating around and they’re incredibly easy to overlook with a normal cleaning routine. When you have allergies or health issues involving the lungs or immune system these things can become a hazard. Luckily there are ways to clean the air in your home and help you breathe easier.
I was recently introduced to the Airfree Onix 3000 Filterless Air Purifier (provided for review purposes) and it has quickly become my favorite way to clean the air in my house. One of the biggest hindrances of an air purifier is buying and replacing filters – that adds up. With the Airfree Onix 3000 there is no filter to change or clean ever. All you have to do is plug it in and let it do its job. There’s no noise or maintenance, making it one of the easiest ways to destroy microorganisms and allergens.
Besides the things I mentioned before, the Airfree Onix 3000 also destroys dust mites, pet dander, viruses, bacteria, and tobacco – plus other organic allergens – in rooms up to 650 square feet. The contaminated air goes into the Airfree unit (via natural air convection) where it’s heated to nearly 400°F. The sterilized air is then cooled and returned to dissipate through the room. You can learn more about the technical side of Airfree by visiting their website.
Aesthetically speaking, the Airfree Onix 3000 fits in with any decor or theme. It has a nightlight feature (blue light) with adjustable brightness. To change the brightness, just tap the sensor above the Airfree logo. There are 10 levels of brightness, with the highest still being dim enough to sleep without disturbance.
The Airfree Onix 3000 unit is compact and can be placed anywhere in your home, just avoid placing it near drafty windows or in corridors. It’s recommended to place it on the floor, but it can be used on a table or counter if preferred. The top does get pretty warm, and that’s the key to determining whether it’s working. It needs to stay on at all times and has built-in safety features in case of tilting or vent blockages. It takes up to 10 days to see a noticeable difference in the air quality, which I can confirm is accurate. By the 10th day of continuous use, I noticed an incredible decrease in my sinus issues and I was breathing a lot better in general.
