What kind of cat mom are you? Me, I’m a cross between a helicopter parent and a free-range parent. That sounds kind of wishy-washy, I’m sure, but there are some areas I think need more attention than others. The main areas I hover over are food and friends. As far as friends go, I need Phoebe to be around animals that are friendly all the time, unlike his latest pal who decided to pick a fight with him. I won’t get into that right now, just know that everyone is safe, healthy, and happy.

Food is the big area where I’m right on top of it. I read every label and pay close attention to the entire eating process – before, during, and yes, even after. I want to make sure Phoebe is getting the most beneficial nutrition possible and that all of his needs are being met. Since PetSmart has the largest variety of pet necessities nearby I decided to head up there to do some shopping.

Wellness Complete Health

I found a brand we hadn’t tried before and it looked very promising. Just the name, Wellness® Complete Health™, gave me confidence. I started reading the ingredients and loved what I saw, Better nutrition. The first ingredients in the Wellness Complete Health cat food: Beef, Chicken Liver, Chicken, Chicken Broth, Carrots. All of the ingredients are carefully chosen. The foods are made with vitamins and minerals – no grains – for optimal health. That’s what it’s all about for us. Optimal health.

The Wellness brand is more than natural pet food. They don’t pack their food with junk, they use a limited amount of quality, simple, and pure ingredients.Ingredients that promote a healthy life and lifestyle. Everything that goes into the Wellness Complete Health pet food serves a purpose.

Wellness Complete Health is available for all life stages and has added some new flavors:

Adult: Deboned Chicken and Chicken Meal:

Indoor: Salmon and Herring Meal

Kitten: Deboned Chicken and Chicken Meal.

We still have a few months until Phoebe is an adult so until then, I choose dry foods formulated for kittens. I want him to get everything he needs from his food, for his age. Wellness makes sure he does.

I picked up a case of the Beef and Chicken wet food to go with the dry. Since pets eat the same things nearly every day I want to make sure I have enough to last and that it’s a food he loves. We picked up some other stuff because let’s face it, when you’re in PetSmart you kinda go crazy, but in a good way!

  1. Thanks for the info! I do not have pets, however knowing about cat nutrition opens the door to better conversation and understanding when my friend and I discuss her cats. She is definitely a helicopter mom, by the way!

  2. We have three cats of our own and are super conscious about giving them the best nutrition. The next time we’re ready to stock up .. we’ll give it a try. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

  3. We haven’t heard about this food. I’m going to have to go check this out and research more about it. It’s crazy how food changes for our fur animals too.

  4. Making your cat’s health a priority is so important and that definitely starts with quality food. I’m sure any kitty would love those flavor options too!

  5. I love to shop at PetSmart. They have so many great products for all my pets needs. I love that you can bring your fur baby with you in the store.

  6. We use the Indoor and our cats have improved on it! They are eating less food but are not hungry so that tells me that the nutrients are better !! They are not begging for as many snacks either!

  7. I’m definitely a free range cat mom. I think what goes into cat or dog food should be just as good ingredient wise as people food. They deserve nothing less.
